JLOG.v1.01 - Initial Release

The very first JLOG, and with it, the very first patch notes. Between commissions, I managed to squeeze in some time to work on the website and introduce a handful of improvements. Most of them are small quality of life changes aimed at making the site cleaner, easier to navigate, and a little more enjoyable to use.

The website has received a complete visual overhaul, introducing many new features that weren't available on the previous version. Some features or elements may still not function as intended - I'm aware of that and will continue improving them over time.

It may not be the most exciting read in the world, but every change deserves to be documented - so you'll find the full patch notes below.

Added

  • A brand new and expanded FAQ section. - I know some answers are quite long, but many of these questions have been asked so frequently that they deserved a proper explanation.

  • A complete commission status legend, explaining what each status means and how I personally use them.

  • The full commission workflow is now available, covering every stage of the process - from the initial sketch to the final illustration.

  • A redesigned portfolio that showcases full illustrations in a cleaner and more organized way.

  • A completely new and expanded About Me page, giving visitors a better understanding of who I am and what I do - something I felt was missing from the previous website.

  • A Privacy Policy to cover the newsletter and contact form.

Changed

  • The Commission Agreement (Terms of Service) has been refined and reorganized. Unnecessary definitions have been removed and moved to more appropriate sections, such as the FAQ and the Commission Process page, making the agreement easier to read without sacrificing clarity.

  • The Services page has been completely reorganized into five main categories, with several of them further divided into dedicated subcategories. For example, Illustration now includes options such as Skeb and Half Body, while Branding has been prepared for future services like Business and Twitch branding.

  • Commission information has been revised and expanded to provide clearer explanations and reduce potential misunderstandings before a commission begins.

Fixed

  • A layout issue that caused sections of the page to shift unexpectedly after adding the commission status component. (Yes, that one took longer to figure out than I'd like to admit.)

  • An issue with the newsletter form where entering an email address would display unexpected characters.

  • Various minor visual inconsistencies across the website to improve the overall look and feel.

Roadmap

  • A dedicated NSFW portfolio page with its own category to ensure adult content is presented responsibly and separately from the main portfolio.

  • A client only commission queue, allowing clients to check the status of their commission at any time.

  • Additional services, including Concept Art, Character Design, and Branding.

  • Fixing a mobile layout issue where JLOG categories appear directly beneath the cover image without proper spacing.

  • Expanding both the website and VGen services with more examples, clearer explanations, and additional options.

  • More JLOG articles covering the business, legal, and creative side of freelancing.

  • Accessibility and mobile improvements across the website.

  • Support for commercial licensing guides, explaining different usage rights in more detail.

And that's pretty much everything I have planned for now, or at least everything I can think of at the moment. Of course, plans may change as time goes on, but I think it's a solid starting point. One thing's for sure - the website already feels much better than the previous version, and I'm looking forward to continuing its development.
